Your privacy and security are prioritized in every part of Hoop.
Your data is never used by AI providers to train models.
All user generated content is for your eyes only, unless explicitly shared.
Only participants access meeting content, and you control visibility otherwise.
Hoop uses enterprise-grade security practices to keep your data safe
Hoop automatically identifies, pulls out, and centralizes tasks across meetings, Slack and email so you never miss a task.
Using AI, Hoop is able to identify tasks as they come in through your communication tools and put them in one spot. You don't need to do anything or click anywhere to make tasks appear: Hoop's AI recognizes tasks based on natural language.
You'll need a Google workspace login to use Hoop.
Hoop has a Mac app that transcribes from meeting platforms including Zoom, Google Meet, Slack Huddles, Microsoft Teams, and more. When you use the Mac app you’ll be notified to turn Hoop on to capture tasks either when you have a scheduled meeting or when Hoop detects audio. No video or audio is recorded. The Mac app transcribes audio content to find tasks. Hoop can also send a meeting bot to attend meetings for Windows users.
In addition to tasks, you’ll get meeting summaries and transcripts after the meeting has ended. These are visible to meeting attendees who also have Hoop accounts. Another user can only see meeting content if they were an attendee and have a Hoop account, or if a Hoop user explicitly shares content. Meeting content can be accessed in your Hoop account.
Connect Hoop to your Slack instance, and Hoop uses AI to identify tasks in DMs, group messages and channels. Tasks are only visible to you, and Hoop does not post messages to Slack channels on your behalf. Hoop will sometimes send you DMs as reminders of upcoming deadlines or information about your tasks. Hoop scans Slack for tasks, does not retain Slack data after generating tasks, and links back to the content in Slack that originated the tasks.
Sign up with a Google workspace email and Hoop will automatically identify tasks from incoming emails. Currently, Hoop only supports Google workspace emails. You can connect up to ten email accounts to Hoop. Hoop retains the subject line and the recipient list from emails after scanning the messages for tasks and will redirect users back to Gmail to interact with the original content as needed.

Which LLMs does Hoop use, and do they train on customer data?
Hoop uses LLMs provided by OpenAI and Google. We test new models as they come out to make sure customers get the top quality outputs. No provider trains on customer data.
Does the Mac app record audio and video?
No. The Mac app transcribes meetings to generate a transcript. We use third party transcription providers (Gladia, Deepgram) so no audio or video is recorded. Customers have access to transcripts after meetings in addition to summaries and tasks.
What are your data retention policies?
Meeting summaries and transcripts are stored by default in Hoop's secure cloud, unless deleted by the user. Slack is scanned for tasks and then only the task info is put into your Hoop account. Slack data is not retained after task info is verifiably in your account. Similar to Slack, email is scanned for tasks and relevant info is pulled into your Hoop account. Once tasks are verifiably in your account, Hoop does not retain message content. Users will be linked back to their Slack and email provider to action on tasks.
Should I ask for consent when I use the Hoop Mac app?
We recommend always asking for consent before transcribing others.
