Starting today, you can connect your email inbox to Hoop, and our AI will automatically scan incoming messages to identify tasks, assign due dates, and put them right into Hoop—no extra work required.
Why email matters
Your inbox is often overflowing with to-dos: a client request for a file, a teammate needing approval on a project, or a reminder from a vendor to review a contract. Yet, sifting through all that noise can be overwhelming. With Hoop’s new email integration, you don’t have to wade through lengthy threads or remember to manually add tasks from your inbox. Instead, they appear in Hoop, alongside your Slack tasks, meeting-derived action items, and more—making it easier to prioritize and get things done.
How it works
Once you connect your inbox (currently supported for Google-based email accounts), Hoop runs quietly in the background. Hoop’s AI evaluates the content to determine if it contains any clear action items. Using a combination of heuristic filters and advanced AI models, Hoop identifies tasks, assigns a due date if one can be derived from the context, and adds it to your incoming tasks list. Messages like newsletters, cold outreach, and marketing emails are filtered out, leaving you only with the actionable items that truly matter.
How to get started
- Connect Your Inbox: Go to your Hoop “Connections” panel and click on the new email integration option.
- Authorize Access: Authorize Hoop to connect with your email. Don’t worry—Hoop never trains AI models on your data, and we don’t store your email messages once tasks are extracted.
- Sit Back and Relax: That’s it! Hoop will begin identifying and capturing tasks for you, automatically populating them in your incoming list.
- If you're signing up for Hoop, then once you connect your email account, this feature will be live automatically.

By unifying action items from email, Slack, and meetings into one comprehensive task list, Hoop frees you from context switching and anxiety over missed requests. Instead of hopping between multiple tabs and inboxes, you have a single, trusted place to know exactly what needs your attention.
